After Using FireFighter1™

We recommend following the drying & storage instructions below.

It will give you a longer hose life, and ensure it is ready for use in an emergency. Folding the hose is important to ensure it can be rapidly deployed when needed.

Dry Your FireFighter1 Hose.

  1. Find a secure location to lay out the hose to dry, preferably on a slope so the hose can fully drain.
  2. Ensure the nozzle end is open and the hose is fully extended to allow water to flow out freely.
  3. Allow to dry completely, 2-3 days, potentially more.

Fold Your FireFighter1 Hose.

  1. Once completely dry, fold the hose in half and place halfway bend at the end of the FireFighter1 housing.
  2. Accordion fold nozzle side of the hose until the entire side is evenly distributed within the box.

Store FireFighter1 Hose.

This is how your FireFighter1 hose should appear when folded. Notice how the adapter and nozzle ends that were left out of the accordion fold are neatly folded on top as the last step to ensure rapid deployment.

By folding this way, when the quick release is connected to the diverter, the pump turned on, and the nozzle is grabbed as you run towards approaching danger, the hose will unfold in an orderly fashion without becoming tangled. You may want to practice using and storing the hose occasionally.

It is also a good idea to keep your FireFighter1 close to fire hazards, such as  your BBQ or house back-up battery & ready in case of a fire emergency.

During the rainy season, can also keep your FireFighter1 stored close by in in sheds, storage closest or the garage.
