The Spokane-area fires destroyed or damaged hundreds of structures and forced approximately 64,000 people to evacuate. In British Columbia, the Bald Range Fire forced roughly 20,000 people from their homes around Okanagan Lake. Across the West, firefighters have been battling fires while heat, drought, wind and dry fuels continue to create dangerous conditions.

The Bald Range Fire in British Columbia forced approximately 20,000 people to evacuate and resulted in the death of one resident.And across California, Oregon, Nevada and other Western states, firefighters have continued responding to major fires, evacuations and extreme fire conditions.
